litbuy haul: It took 10 days to travel from China to Berlin
Spring comes late in Berlin. It’s already late March, but the sky is still overcast. The heating is cranked up in the café, and I’m curled up in a corner scrolling through my phone.
Suddenly, I came across a Bape shark-head hoodie. There were also Jordan AJ1s and that graffiti T-shirt from Stussy. To be honest, I was tempted. But in Germany, these items are either ridiculously expensive or simply impossible to find.
A friend had mentioned Litbuy before, saying it’s a platform for buying Chinese products from overseas. I figured, why not give it a try? How hard could it be?
Placing an order was simple—no different from any other e-commerce site. But the process that followed was a bit interesting.
Litbuy doesn’t ship directly. They have a buyer system that sources items for you from domestic e-commerce platforms. Taobao, JD.com, Pinduoduo—they can shop on all of them. The buyer purchases the items, and the merchants ship them to Litbuy’s warehouse.
The warehouse then inspects the goods. They cross-check every detail: style, color, size, and model. I think this step is pretty important. After all, with half the globe between us, it’s a hassle to return or exchange items if they’re not right.
What surprised me most were the quality control photos. The warehouse takes photos and sends them to you so you can confirm the items are in good condition. The photos are quite detailed, showing every angle. For overseas users, this service really puts our minds at ease.
If you’re not satisfied, you can return or exchange items within 5 days. This policy gives me some peace of mind.
Once you confirm everything is okay, the items are added to your warehouse. In Litbuy’s user dashboard, there’s a “My Warehouse” section where all confirmed items are stored. You decide when to ship them.
You have to pay extra for international shipping, which I understand. Shipping from China to Germany isn’t cheap to begin with. The warehouse will weigh and pack your items for you and contact the shipping company.
The entire process, from order placement to delivery, takes about 10 days. $80 for 3 kilograms, shipped from China to Berlin.

The items arrived, so I opened them up to take a look. The Bape hoodie feels better than I expected. The Jordan AJ1 has nice attention to detail. The Stussy hoodie has a great texture and is visibly thick.
But it’s not all smooth sailing.
Buyers’ orders sometimes get delayed. Inventory on domestic e-commerce platforms changes quickly—something in stock today might be gone tomorrow. This uncertainty can be a bit stressful.
Even though the quality control photos look good, there’s always a gap between the pictures and the actual product. Things like color and texture don’t come across clearly in photos.
International shipping costs are definitely on the high side. Plus, delivery times are a bit of a gamble. Customs clearance, weather, and holidays can all throw a wrench in the works.
Overall, though, Litbuy is pretty reliable. At the very least, it lets me buy stuff from China while I’m in Berlin—no need to go through a proxy buyer or deal with the hassle of shipping it myself.
It was raining in Berlin the day the package arrived. When I opened the box and saw the items inside, I suddenly felt that the 10-day wait had been worth it.
I wore the Bape hoodie out the very next day. I paired the Jordan AJ1s with a pair of old jeans. The Stussy T-shirt is for weekend outings.
These items might not be a big deal back home. But being able to buy them overseas and have a relatively reliable shopping experience—that’s enough.
Litbuy’s process is both complex and simple. The complexity lies in the middle steps—buyer procurement, warehouse inspection, quality control verification, and international shipping. The simplicity is that, as a user, all you need to do is place an order, confirm it, and receive the package.
But this simplicity is built on the complex system behind Litbuy.
I can’t help but wonder: without a platform like this, how much of a hassle would it be to buy domestic products from overseas? Using a proxy buyer means worrying about authenticity. Handling shipping yourself involves a complicated process. And the prices aren’t necessarily a good deal.
Litbuy has at least bundled all these issues into a single solution. Although there might be a few minor hiccups along the way, overall, the process is pretty smooth.
I’m already thinking about what to buy next. Maybe an Acne Studios sweater, or a pair of Maison Margiela shoes. Either way, I’m already familiar with Litbuy’s process.
