Air Force One: A Review of My Annual Purchase

It’s that time of year again when the seasons change. I rummaged through my shoe closet, and in the end, those pure white Air Force 1s were still the ones that caught my eye. Isn’t it weird? I have to buy a pair every year—it’s like an addiction.

This time, I went with the low-top version again. The lines are so sleek and clean—they’re a pleasure to look at. The perforations on the toe box are densely packed, making them truly breathable, and the texture is top-notch. But the best part is still that Air cushioning—when I walk, it feels soft underfoot with great support.

When it comes to styling, the Air Force 1 has never let me down. Jeans, cargo pants—I can wear them with anything. Sometimes, on a whim, I’ll pair them with a casual blazer, and it actually looks pretty harmonious. I’ve even seen girls wear them with pleated skirts, and it actually looks great. The pure white color is truly a versatile staple—it blends seamlessly with any style.

I wear them for everyday outings and even for light commuting. That’s the beauty of a classic silhouette—it never goes out of style. And here’s a little secret: these shoes have about a 4cm built-in lift, so if you’re on the shorter side, they’ll instantly make you look taller and more confident.

The pair I bought is a reissue. Litbuy got them for me through a Weidian store in China for $22.

When it comes to replicas, I’m very familiar with the Air Force 1 models. As for the materials, the pair I bought this time has leather that feels nice to the touch—it doesn’t have that stiff, cheap feel. The fit is spot-on too; it curves where it should and tapers where it needs to. As for the air cushioning, while it’s not the original kind, the comfort is more than adequate.

To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised to get this level of quality for just $22. At first, I was worried that something this cheap might be an obvious fake. But when I got them in my hands, the craftsmanship was way better than I expected. The stitching is clean, and there aren’t any noticeable glue marks.

Of course, there are some downsides. The shoe box is a bit flimsy—nothing like the genuine article. The insole material is also just average; it might flatten out a bit after prolonged wear. But these minor issues are easily overlooked.

The biggest advantage of shopping on Litbuy is the wide selection. Finding this Chinese Weidian shop through the Litbuy spreadsheet was a real eye-opener. Some domestic Weidian shops really know their stuff when it comes to replicas.

I’ve been wearing these shoes for a month now, practically every day. I wear them to work, for shopping, and even to the grocery store. White shoes get dirty easily, but a quick wipe is all it takes to clean them up. The soles are pretty durable—after a month of wear, there’s not much wear and tear.

Sometimes I wonder, why do I buy a new pair of Air Force 1s every year? Maybe it’s just a habit. It’s like how some people upgrade their phones every year, or others buy a new wardrobe. For me, a new pair of Air Force 1s symbolizes a fresh start.

Finally, a bit of advice for anyone looking to buy shoes on Litbuy: browse around, compare options, and don’t rush to place an order. There are many reissue versions of the Air Force 1, and they differ in materials, fit, and cushioning. Finding a reliable seller is more important than finding a cheap price.

$22 for a pair of all-white Air Force 1s that’ll last a year. I think that’s a pretty good deal. This time next year, I’ll probably be searching for my next pair on the Litbuy spreadsheet. After all, once you get into a habit, it’s hard to break.
